Nomination Procedures for Officers and Directors
The Dolphin Democrats Nominating and Election Committee has been organized for the election of Officers and Directors at the February 13, 2008 meeting. Members interested in running for an office or a seat as Board member shall contact any Nominating Committee Member: JD Camp, Nadezda Martinez or Gwen Handelman - at the contact info listed below.
To be considered for the official slate, the Nominating Committee will need all submissions no later than January 25, 2008. Nominations will be accepted from the floor at the January 9th, 2008 Dolphin meeting and also at the meeting prior to the elections on February 13th, 2008.
Candidates shall submit a brief narrative statement no more than 200 words including relevant background, skills, interests and vision they will support and deliver for the organization - to be posted on the Dolphin website prior to the February '08 meeting. Include your complete contact info (will not be posted). Letters of endorsement from Dolphin Members and additional background information may also be included for the Committee's use, but will not be distributed by the Committee.
The Committee is charged with nominating 1 person for each position - President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, plus 13 Board members. The terms are for 1 year. The President and Vice President shall be of opposite gender and shall run together as a ticket. Candidates must have been a member by the 45th day (Dec.30) prior to the annual meeting and maintain membership through the date of the annual meeting (Feb.13).
