Dolphin meeting Date Change

The Bylaws will be discussed at the next Dolphin Democrats meeting which will be held Tuesday, October 7 at 7:30pm, due to Yom Kippur.

The current Bylaws require that proposed changes be submitted to the Dolphin Democrats membership 10 days prior to meeting where proposed changes will be discussed. This letter and attachment fulfill that requirement. You will find a copy of the proposed changes by clicking HERE

Some of the more significant proposed changes are listed below:

Increase number of Board members to from 13 to 15
Add provision prohibiting 2 members from same household from serving on the board concurrently
Provide that the top 15 vote getters are elected as Board members
Insert sections on Conflict of Interest, Limitation of Liability, Hold Harmless and Liability Insurance
Change the quorum requirement from twenty percent to 10 percent
Change fiscal year to July1—June 30

These proposed changes have been unanimously recommended by the ByLaws and Rules Committee and unanimously recommended by the Board of Directors at their monthly meeting on August 13, 2008. We look forward to discussing the proposed changes to the Bylaws at the October 7 meeting. Please make every effort to attend the October 7 meeting. Our bylaws require a quorum of twenty percent of our membership to conduct this business.
