Attitudes about marriage
A generation gap in politics and ideology on key issues is widening among white evangelicals. According to a new Greenberg Quinlan Rosner poll, 58 percent of white young evangelical Christians support either marriage or domestic partners for committed same-sex couples. Support is just 46 percent among white evangelicals ages 30 and over. The younger generation of traditionally conservative evangelicals is also proving more Democratic, with presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama finding 8 percent more support among 18- to 29-year-olds than among older evangelicals.
