A memorial service will be held Thursday for Simmie Williams Jr. on the same corner of the Sistrunk neighborhood where the 17-year-old was gunned down last week.
The event is to take place at 4:30 p.m. on the 1000 block of Sistrunk Boulevard. A town hall meeting focusing on hate crimes in Florida is scheduled for after the service at 6:30 p.m. at the Gay & Lesbian Community Center of South Florida at 1717 N. Andrews Avenue
