Gerry Gunzburger

Gerry Gunzburger, husband of longtime Dolphin Democrat and County Comissioner Sue Gunzburger and father of Ron Gunzburger, died. He was 77.
Retired plastics manufacturing executive, chemist, and community activist Gerry Gunzburger died Thursday at his home in Hollywood, Florida. Gunzburger was the husband of County Commissioner Sue Gunzburger. He was 77 years old.Gunzburger was born in Berlin, Germany, in 1931. He came from a family of very cosmopolitan assimilated Jews – a family which had lived in Germany for hundreds of years. As the Nazi threats against the Jews grew, Gunzburger and his parents wisely fled Germany in late 1936. His grandmother and aunt, who opted instead to stay in Berlin, both perished in the Holocaust.

Please Help Broward House

Dear Fellow Dolphin Democrats:

Please read the following, I would greatly appreciate anything you can do for this great cause, Just like the Obama campaign, Either five, ten or twnety dollars. It will make a great difference.!!

Please join me on April 30th, when I and several others will be named HOPE'S HEROES by Broward House, our local HIV/AIDS service organization. I am honored and moved that Broward House recognized my work and efforts in our community, and want to share this recognition with you.

I believe in hope. It's only a four letter word, but it means so much, just like LOVE. Right now, when we are all facing hard economic times, it's even tougher for those who truly need our support -- because they may have nowhere else to go.

Please be so generous to give what you can, so I can reach my personal goal for the Hope's Heroes program, and so Broward House can serve those who need help. Please click on www.browardhouse.org and find the link for Hope's Heroes to make your contribution. Thank you !

Attached is information that will give you a better insight what Broward House does and what it stands for.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and God Bless you.

Sincerely yours,
Michael A. Albetta

VOTE NO on SB 956 and House companion bill PCB-EDCA 09-08.

Citizens groups from all over the state rallied on the 4th Floor Rotunda of the Capitol building, Senate side, in Tallahassee this morning at 11:00 AM at a press conference in opposition to two voter suppression bills being fast-tracked through the Florida legislature.

See the attached joint press release in opposition to this anti-voter legislation. More organizations are signing on moment by moment.

Keep your calls going to legislators all over the state to VOTE NO on SB 956 and House companion bill PCB-EDCA 09-08.

Be sure to call House Speaker Larry Cretul  850-488-1450 and Senate President Jeff Atwater 850-487-5100 to stop the bills from going to the floor of the House and Senate, which could happen as early as Tuesday, April 21st in the House and Wednesday, April 22nd in the Senate.

Call your Representative and Senator to VOTE NO on the bills if they get to the floor.

Call Representative Dorothy Hukill at 850-488-6653, the presenter of the bill in the House, to withdraw her sponsorship.
Call Senator J.D. Alexander at 850-487-5044 and Senator Alex Diaz de la Portilla at 850-487-5109 to withdraw their sponsorship of the Senate bill.

Then call Governor Charlie Crist at 850-488-4441 to VETO the bill, no matter how it is amended, if it gets to his desk.

These bills are bad for voters, bad for election integrity, and bad for democracy.
