Congratulations to Dolphin members Anthony Niedwiecki and Anne Sallee who were both elected to the Oakland Park City Commission. By virtue of receiving the most votes, Anthony will become Mayor of Oakland Park in the future.

We also want to congratulate members Coleman Prewitt and Derrick Hankerson. Coleman came up 414 votes short in his race for the District 4 seat on the Fort Lauderdale City Commission and Derrick was only 92 votes shy of winning a spot on the Dania Beach City Commission.

Our congratulations to Dolphin members who were elected in the February 10, 2009 municipal elections: Charlotte Rodstrom (Fort Lauderdale Commission District 2) and Scott Newton (Wilton Manors Commission). Derrick Hankerson received enough votes to advance to the run-off election in Dania Beach for City Commission in March.

We would also like to congratulate Dolphin members who also ran in the February municipal elections and represented the best that is the Dolphin Democrats: Dean Trantalis (Fort Lauderdale Mayor), Steve Glassman and Howard Elfman (Fort Lauderdale Commission District 2) and Julie Carson (Wilton Manors Commission).
