The Dolphin Democrats remember the Pulse Nightclub Massacre.
It has now been over one year ago today the world woke up to a nightmare.
We offer support to the survivors, acknowledging some feel guilty, at fault or coping with the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. We know family and friends are still suffering pain and loss of innocence.
We extend gratitude to the first responders, law enforcement, emergency personnel, medical teams and all volunteers that gave aid and comfort. To the hospitals and local businesses that took the lead in rendering medical care, we say thank you.
Our hearts go out to those in eternal sleep. You are not forgotten.
One year later Florida’s LGBTAQ and Latinx communities stand united and stronger. There is new life and a new dawn. Cynicism and vulnerability are erased by hope, dreams, passion and emotion and a call for action is renewed.
We move forward stronger and united together.
We seek individual freedom in the framework of a just society and political freedom in the framework of meaningful participation by all citizens. Further, it shall be the mission of this organization to foster good will between lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and allies (LGBTA) members of the Democratic Party and the community at large.

Scott Herman in his role as President took a historical move by appointing Ms. Paulette Armstead, esq to be Vice President till 2/2019, to be the first African American to the Executive Board, as well as someone from the general membership that was not a director or past director. Whom demonstrated the willingness to work with the President, and had the determination to move the Dolphin Democrats forward. Having obtained the trust of the President, and with also having the ability to communicate openly with the President as if both had been able to run on the same ticket. With Ms. Armstead, esq knowledge of law since having her law degree since 1978 and practicing law as an attorney since 1986 will help ensure our board runs smoothly.

Mr. Olvera who is from Cuba brings a grassroots and another Latino/Hispanic understanding to the board and he is working very hard with the President to grow the club and has already taken on committees to better the Dolphin Democrats.
Scott Herman in his role as President has proudly appointed Ed Leuchs to be director till in 2018, to the board to ensure during the first 30 days of the new President that historical knowledge would be in use and Mr. Leuchs with his vast knowledge of GOTV should help us in the 2018 elections that are just around the corner.
Scott Herman in his role as President has proudly appointed Verna Johnson to be director till 2018, another African American female to the Board for the purpose to ensure that the historical knowledge would be in use and help with the boost needed in the first 30 days of the President.
Scott Herman in his role as President has proudly appointed T Pena to the position of Sergeant at Arms, serving at the pleasure of the President. T caught the Presidents eye early on in the very first meeting T attended with the energy T showed. T is heavily invested in the Transgender community as T is a member of the Transgender community.
