The Dolphin Democrats’ first round of endorsements will be held in-person at our Membership Meeting Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 7:00pm at The Pride Center
The Campaign & Elections Committee invited all candidates who are registered as Democrats running for election to participate in the endorsement process.
Following are the seats that will be endorsed at the July 13th meeting, and the candidates running for those seats who submitted the completed questionnaire by the provided deadline:
State Senate D-35: Lauren Book
State House D-100: Linda Thompson Gonzalez
Broward County Commission D-8: Bobby Dubose
Broward County Commission D-9: Guithele Ruiz-Nicolas
Broward County School Board D-7: Nora Rupert
Completed questionnaires by candidates seeking an endorsement will be emailed to all the voting members.
To win the endorsement a candidate must get 2/3 of all the votes casted by eligible voting members at the endorsement meeting.
To be eligible to vote you must be a Dolphin Dems member for at least 30 days prior to any endorsement meeting. Voting members must be registered Democrats living in and registered to vote in Broward County.
IN ADDITION AT THIS MEETING:
In anticipation of the Florida LGBTQ+ Democratic Caucus endorsement of the following seats at the July 22-24 Summer Conference, we will conduct the following Straw Polls for:
Governor
United States Senate
Congressional District 23

Municipal Seats without an August primary will be endorsed at a later date.
