Dolphin Democrats Announce Final Three Rounds of Endorsement Meetings for the 2026 General Election
The Dolphin Democrats will conduct three additional rounds of endorsements for candidates running in municipal elections throughout Broward County.
Endorsement questionnaires will be emailed to all candidates who are registered Democrats and are running for one of the offices being considered. Candidates may also request an endorsement questionnaire by emailing [email protected].
To receive the Dolphin Democrats endorsement, a candidate must receive at least two-thirds (2/3) of all votes cast by eligible members present at the endorsement meeting.
When a race includes more than two candidates and no candidate receives the required two-thirds majority on the first ballot, a runoff vote will be conducted between the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes.
Round 4: Wednesday, August 12, 2026
The Dolphin Democrats will consider endorsements in the following races:
Dania Beach Commission, At-Large
Hollywood Commission, Districts 1 & 5
Lauderdale-by-the-Sea Commission, Seat 2
Sunrise Commission, Seats C & D
Tamarac Commission, Districts 2 & 4
West Park Commission, Seats 1 & 2
Candidate Questionnaire Deadline
Candidates running for the offices listed in Round 4 must submit their completed questionnaires no later than Friday, July 31, 2026.
Member Voting Eligibility
Only qualified voting members may participate in this endorsement round. To be eligible, members must have joined or renewed their Dolphin Democrats membership on or before Monday, July 13, 2026.
Round 5: Wednesday, September 9, 2026
The Dolphin Democrats will consider endorsements in the following races:
Coral Springs Mayor, At-Large
Coral Springs Commission, Seats 3 & 4
Fort Lauderdale Commission, District 1
Margate Commission, Seats 3 & 5
North Lauderdale Mayor, At-Large
Oakland Park Commission, At-Large
Pompano Beach Commission, Districts 4 & 5
Candidate Questionnaire Deadline
Candidates running for the offices listed in Round 5 must submit their completed questionnaires no later than Sunday, August 2, 2026.
Member Voting Eligibility
Only qualified voting members may participate in this endorsement round. To be eligible, members must have joined or renewed their Dolphin Democrats membership on or before Monday, August 10, 2026.
Round 6: Wednesday, September 23, 2026
The Dolphin Democrats will consider endorsements in the following races:
Davie Mayor, At-Large
Davie Council, Districts 1, 3 & 4
Lauderhill Mayor, Seat 5
Lauderhill Commission, Seat 4
Plantation Mayor, At-Large
Plantation Council, Group 4
Wilton Manors Mayor, At-Large
Wilton Manors Commission, At-Large

Candidates running for the offices listed in Round 6 must submit their completed questionnaires no later than Sunday, August 2, 2026.
Member Voting Eligibility
Only qualified voting members may participate in this endorsement round. To be eligible, members must have joined or renewed their Dolphin Democrats membership on or before Monday, August 24, 2026.
