Appointments to the Trump administration have triggered a series of special elections throughout Florida. In the House, the resignations of Matt Gaetz and Mike Waltz have left vacancies in FL-01 and FL-06. General elections for these seats will be held on April 1, 2025.
Special elections give Florida Democrats an opportunity to organize for the future.
- These special elections are in ruby red districts — but that doesn’t mean that Democrats will sit by and let Republicans walk into office unopposed.
- We firmly believe that every Floridian deserves a choice when they enter the ballot box.
- Our candidates will hold Republicans accountable for their failures on the affordability crisis and force them to own up to their bad policies.
- Florida Democrats will use these special elections as an opportunity to register voters, re-enroll Floridians in vote-by-mail, and spread the Democratic message throughout the state.
