At the Annual Membership Meeting on Wednesday, February 14th, the Dolphin Democrats elected Alfredo Olvera as their President. Adrianna Tender as Vice-President, Dr. Frederick Hunter as Secretary, and Tina Jaramillo, Brian Bender, Justin Gladney, Sabrina Javellana, and James Brenner as Directors. Congratulations to our newly elected Board Members.
We also extend our gratitude to outgoing board members Zachary Eakins-Durand, Jose Cedeno, Mark McKenzie, Marc Martorana, and Bud Beehler for their invaluable contributions and dedication during their tenure.

Board of Directors Election
On Wednesday, February 10, 2021 the members of The Dolphin Democrats Elected Alfredo Olvera as President and Nik Harris as Vice-President for a second term expiring in 2023. At the same meeting the members also elected Tina Jaramillo to Secretary, Hillary Dougherty to Treasurer. In addition Emma Collum, Grecia Rivas-Smith, Lorenzo Robertson, Adam Sabin, Vanessa Villaverde, Nick Zantop and Jose Cedeno were elected as Directors.
We are all excited to see the board continuing their political work on behalf of LGBTQ+ Democrats in Broward County. Congratulations to all.
Board of Directors Elections – 02/10/2021
The Dolphin Democrats will be holding a Board of Directors election at the February 10, 2021 Annual Membership Meeting. The following seats are up for election: President & Vice-President (Ticket), Secretary & Treasurer with terms expiring on February 2023. 6 Directors with terms expiring on February 2023, and 1 Director with term expiring on February 2022.
To participate, candidates must be a member of the organization for at least 40 days prior to the election meeting, and they must be a registered Democrat living in Broward County.
Nominations will be accepted from the floor on the day of the election. Invitation to the meeting will be emailed only to 2021 Voting Members.

At our February 12, 2020 Annual Membership Meeting we will be electing 5 Directors with terms expiring on February, 2022. We will also be electing a Secretary with term expiring on February 2021.
Any person who would like to participate in the election as a candidate or a voter, must renew their membership or join by December 29, 2019. Candidates shall also be registered as a Democrat living in Broward County, and be able and willing to attend and actively participate in the monthly membership meeting and Board of Directors meeting.
The Dolphin Democrats Board of Directors is a very active Board united in a common purpose, to strengthen and further the ideals and principles of the Democratic Party, which recognizes and promotes diversity, good will, and respect for all members of the community.

Directors Election – September 11, 2019
The Dolphin Democrats has 2 directors to the board positions vacant. The Elections committee will be holding an election at the September 11, 2019 Membership Meeting.
The Following positions are vacant:
Directorship with term expiring February, 2021
Directorship with term expiring February 2020
If you would like to participate and run for election, you must be a member for at least 45 days before the September 11th meeting (July 28th). Must be a registered Democrat and live in Broward County.
All directors must commit to attend and participate in the once a month Board of Directors meeting, and Membership Meeting. They also need to actively chair, co-chair or participate in at least one of the committees.
All members interested in adding their name to the ballot should email a brief bio to [email protected] no later than August 31, 2019. The committee will be also taking nominations from the floor.
Proposed Amendments to Bylaws
The Bylaws and Rules Committee proposes the attached bylaw amendments. These amendments were unanimously recommended by the Board of Directors at their December meeting.
The bylaw amendments will be presented at the next General Membership meeting on Wednesday, January 9th. 6:30pm at The Pride Center in Wilton Manors.
We highly encourage every active member to download, print, and review the two attached documents and bring them to the meeting.

Appointments to the Board of Directors
The President of The Dolphin Democrats and The Board of Directors have appointed 3 members to the Board of Directors to positions with terms expiring on February, 2020. We would like to congratulate and welcome to the Board our new 3 appointed directors Kerry-Ann Parson, Anthony Ginsberg, & Carson Graham.
The appointees will have to run for election at our next general membership meeting on Wednesday, January 9, 2019. Any qualified member who is interested in running for any of those Director positions is welcome to submit a brief bio to [email protected] – Floor nominations will also be accepted at the meeting.
We would also like to remind all members that in order to participate in the Annual Election Meeting for the Executive Board and 6 Directors of the Board available that they must renew their 2019 membership by 11:59pm December 31,2018. Our Annual Membership Meeting will be held at The Pride Center on February 13, 2019.
