Before you vote, look here for the completed questionnaires candidates have returned to us with questions and answers relating to the LGBT Community.
The next election will be the Municipal Election held on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. The following municipalities will hold their elections on that date: Coconut Creek, Deerfield Beach, Hillsboro Beach, Lighthouse Point, Miramar, and Sea Ranch Lakes. The filing deadline for this election is January 13, 2017.
All municipal elections are non-partisan. That means the candidate cannot tell you their party affiliation. It is not illegal for any political party or partisan group to put out a palm card with the candidate’s party affiliations. The Dolphin Democrats usually post the party affiliations of all candidates in municipal elections on our website.
The Dolphin Democrats will send a questionnaire to every candidate who is a registered Democrat.
Since this is an officially non-partisan election, we have identified the party affiliation of each candidate unless their voter record has been redacted because they are a sitting judge, prosecutor, or law enforcement officer. All Democratic candidates listed on this page have been sent a Dolphin Democrats Candidate Questionnaire. We do not send questionnaires to candidates who are not Democrats.
***Questionnaires for the Municipal Election are not due until February 6, 2017.***
MARCH 14, 2017 MUNICIPAL CANDIDATES
Incumbents are indicated by a “*”
Some municipalities (Coconut Creek, Deerfield Beach, and Miramar) have posted financial reports for the election, so we are able to identify some candidates. We have listed the incumbents, even though in some cases they have not submitted financial reports yet. We have not asked them if they are not running, and some of these municipalities have not posted the names of any candidates for the March 14, 2017 election as yet. This page will be updated as the filing deadline approaches (January 13, 2017).
